Case 24-002 MA 1 (New Jersey) Closed as Unidentified

A credible witness in central New Jersey reported a triangular formation of lights in the early morning of 29  February 2024. We were not able to find an explanation that fit her observation. You can read our Report of Investigation if you want to know more.

Unfortunately, there was no corroboration discovered in our investigation. If you were in New Jersey or Eastern Pennsylvania at the time and saw something similar, please get in touch.

The Basics of Recording UFO video

We have a new Public information video out going over a few simple steps to capture a UFO on video should you happen to sight one.

Here at API we have lots of experience with people submitting video to us of something weird they saw in the sky. Most of the time, it turns out that it’s not so weird, but sometimes we are left puzzled, or at least a little perplexed. If you are watching this video, chances are you are hoping to someday capture video of an object you can’t identify – something that is moving in odd ways, or has a shape or color that makes little sense. This is about what to do when that moment arrives.

We’ll assume that what you are shooting this video with is your mobile phone, since that is the only camera most people routinely carry, but the basic advice should apply to any camera.

There really isn’t any question of whether to shoot or not shoot video – if you have a functioning camera, you shoot. You don’t have to worry that people will think less of you – API will protect you from all the stigma, and anything in the video that might identify you will be muted, blurred, or edited out.

Materials from the Mysteries of Space and Sky 2023 Conference

API’s Paul Carr spoke at the Mysteries of Space and Sky 2023 conference in Gambrills, Maryland on the 21st of October. The purpose of the talk was four fold:

  • To discuss the current paradigm for citizen involvement in studying the phenomena and why and how it needs to evolve.
  • To propose some research questions that we can address with data we have or could collect.
  • To introduce the idea of Citizen Science into the UAP space.
  • To encourage everyone to get involved in some way.

As usual, the materials for this talk are published under Creative Commons 1.0. You can copy and remix them as you see fit. Attribution would be nice, but we won’t insist.

Conversation 20 – Airman Pat at Cannon AFB in the 70s

Recorded: 7 June 2023
Released: 30 July 2023
Duration: 54 Minutes 21 Seconds

This is our first anonymous API Conversation, although we are using the real first name of our Witness. A former Air Force F111 technician tells us his story about a UFO encounter captured on RADAR at Cannon Air Force base in New Mexico in the mid 1970s, and what followed after that.

If you served with Airman Pat at Cannon AFB in the mid 1970s, or if you were in Clovis, NM at that time, we’d like to hear your side of the story.
