Materials from the Mysteries of Space and Sky 2023 Conference

API’s Paul Carr spoke at the Mysteries of Space and Sky 2023 conference in Gambrills, Maryland on the 21st of October. The purpose of the talk was four fold:

  • To discuss the current paradigm for citizen involvement in studying the phenomena and why and how it needs to evolve.
  • To propose some research questions that we can address with data we have or could collect.
  • To introduce the idea of Citizen Science into the UAP space.
  • To encourage everyone to get involved in some way.

As usual, the materials for this talk are published under Creative Commons 1.0. You can copy and remix them as you see fit. Attribution would be nice, but we won’t insist.

Our new API hotline number

If you need to get in touch with us ASAP (say, a sighting in progress), we have a new number you can call: (301) 615-0474. That’s a USA number (country code 011). We may be able to pick up right away, or you can leave a voicemail and we will reply shortly.

If it can wait a day or so, then please use our online contact form, or our sighting report form if you have a new sighting to report. We can reply by e-mail or telephone – just let us know which you prefer.

Saying “Yes” to an Investigation

The primary purpose of the Aerial Phenomenon Investigations Team is to investigate unknown aerial object sightings reported by citizens. We do this with the cooperation of YOU, the Witness. Without YOU we cannot conduct a credible investigation.

When a citizen fills out one of our reporting forms, that begins a process of research and investigation. It’s important to realize that when a Witness selects YES to an investigation, then the team needs the Witnesses involvement and cooperation throughout the investigative process.

Come hang out with us on Facebook

We’ve started a new Facebook group, and we’d like you as a member. Just knock on the door, and we’ll let you in.

You can also hang out with us on Discord, or reddit, or follow us on Twitter – we often follow back on Twitter when the profile page is sufficiently informative.

We don’t just want you to use these platforms to keep up with what we’re doing (you can do that here better than anywhere else), but to let us know what you think, and what questions you have – about our investigations, our podcast, our video, or anything else. Really good questions or comments made in these forums will end up on the podcast.

API is seeking alliances with other independent research groups

Here is our complete statement of the sort of alliances we are seeking.

In summary, so long as we can assure the protection of witness privacy, we want to establish exchange agreements with like-minded UFO research organizations. No money will change hands, – just information, expertise, and effort.

400 Legit Followers on Twitter and growing

Update: over 500 now (Jan 2019)

We’ve been slowly rebuilding our social media presence over the last year or so. It’s taken that long to work up to 400 Twitter followers, but these are all real people. if we didn’t block the spammers and egg accounts, we’d probably have 6-700.

Anyway, if you are on Twitter regularly, please follow us, and we’ll very likely follow back. We tweet all the content from this website as it appears, so you can use it as an alert system.

You can contact us via telephone or encrypted Protonmail

We have a voicemail line available. This might be particularly useful for sightings in progress. Just call 301-615-0474 in the US. Our international dialing prefix is 011. If we can’t call back right away, just leave a voicemail and we will call you back as soon as possible – in many cases within minutes. We will not use this recording of your voice on our podcast or any other public materials without your express permission.

Unless things are evolving in real time, we prefer you use our contact form, or our sighting report form if you need to report a new sighting.

If you prefer to send us an encrypted e-mail, we have an account on protonmail.com with user name: reportaufo.

You can use whatever e-mail account you are comfortable with to contact us, but Protonmail has apps available for both iOS and Android, and a basic account is free if you wish to give it a try.
